| Details | Date: Wednesday, 19 April 2026 Time: 8.15am – 4.30pm Venue: Tan Tock Seng Hospital, L1 Conference Rooms and B1 Surgical Sciences Training Centre (SSTC) |
| Synopsis: | The haemodynamic workshop is designed for doctors working in anaesthesia, emergency and critical care medicine taking care of haemodynamically unstable patients. The main objective is to equip participants with the knowledge in interpreting basic and advanced haemodynamic parameters like ScVO2, stroke volume variation and its limitations. Live animals will be used to demonstrate the changes in haemodynamic parameters for various shock states and response to pharmacological and physiological manoeuvres. Continuous haemodynamic parameters will be correlated with “live” echocardiographic examinations. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Title: | Implementing an Inter-professional In-Situ Protected Code Blue Resuscitation Simulation Program “Is your healthcare facility prepared to combat the next lethal airborne respiratory disease?” |
| Details | Date: Thursday, 20 April 2026 Time: 9am – 5.00pm Venue: Changi Simulation Institute, Changi General Hospital |
| Synopsis: | Patients admitted to the hospital with a deadly airborne respiratory disease present a challenge to the healthcare team. Since the 2003 SARS pandemic, there has been development of policies with regards to infection control and isolation procedures. Infrastructure and acquisition of equipment such as PAPR are also in place. However, the resuscitation protocols and training of the healthcare team in managing a deteriorating patient with such a condition have not been established. This would be the loophole in infection control and containment policies should a lethal airborne disease strike again. There is a lack of inter-professional training amongst the doctors, nurses and respiratory therapist, who are the primary team managing such patients. There is much confusion on the ground on effective resuscitation of the contagious deteriorating patient without compromising the well-being of the healthcare team. This workshop comprise of 3 components. Firstly, discussion on current available knowledge and workflows for effective resuscitation of such a patient. Secondly, participants will be engaged in planning and determining the needs of their organization and frontline staff through small group discussions and simulation scenarios. Thirdly, participants will engage in planning an in-situ inter-professional simulation training program for managing such patients. | |||||||||||||||

| Details | Date: Thursday - Friday, 20 - 21 April 2026 Time: 9am – 4.30pm Venue: Ng Teng Fong General Hospital |
| Synopsis: | Jointly developed by the BASIC collaboration (The Chinese University of Hong Kong) and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine (ESICM), this international course has been conducted at multiple locations in a similar format to the original BASIC ICU course. This is a pre-conference workshop of the SG-ANZICS conference 2017.
This 2 day course has several components; including a pre and post course MCQ test, comprehensive structured lectures, demonstrations, small group discussions and practical skill stations and hands on interaction with dialysis machines at several skill station. Participants can expect to complete the course with a thorough knowledge of conditions causing AKI, strategies for prevention and detection, supportive and disease specific therapies and renal replacement strategies and troubleshooting. They will be able to then deploy this knowledge in general, acute care and critical care areas. |

| Title: | Advanced Ventilation Workshop Day 1 – Patient Ventilator Asynchrony |
| Details |
Date: Thursday, 20 April 2026 Time: 9.00am – 5.00pm Venue: Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Level 3, Meeting Room 302 |
| Synopsis: |
According to the latest research, in observed ventilated patients, 27% exhibited asynchrony in greater than 10% of breaths; ICU physicians were only able to detect less than 1/3 of the asynchronies. On average, when ITI* is greater than or equal to 10%, mechanical ventilation times are increased by 6 days; hospital stays are longer by an average of 13 days and ICU stays are longer by an average of 4 days, Exhibiting a significant proportion of asynchronous breaths is associated with an almost 5 times increase in ICU mortality. This program is designed to help intensivists/RTs to understand patient-ventilator asynchrony from the physiology cause to clinical remedy; the program also integrates interactive simulation training sessions using preprogramed clinical case scenarios to help understanding and mastering the whole content.

This workshop seeks to take participants beyond the standard ventilation practices. We will review lung protective ventilation and the current understanding of ventilator induced lung injury mechanisms. The workshop will focus on equipping participants with knowledge and hands on skills to recognize and manage complex scenarios at the extremes of pulmonary physiology, including the role of PEEP, lung recruitment and adjunctive pharmacological interventions. The program will include lectures (including keynote international guest speakers), hands on simulation stations and group discussion with international experts.
