Critical Care Physiology for Bedside Practice

The Critical Care Physiology for Bedside Practice workshop aims to provide a broad overview of physiology that is central to Medical, Surgical and Neurosurgical adult ICU practice. Teaching will be practically-relevant, case-based, and will cover all major body systems. The workshop will be useful for junior physicians doing work in the ICU, for senior trainees preparing for examinations, and for intensivists wishing to refresh one’s knowledge.

Learning Objectives:

  • To demonstrate how physiology applies to ICU practice
  • To show how physiology can be used to explain selected clinical trial outcomes
  • To enable participants to use applied physiology for ICU management
